OLD WESTBURY, N.Y. (WABC) -- A worker was rescued Thursday after falling down a shaft at SUNY College at Old Westbury.
The man fell about 30 feet into the shaft near the main entrance of the campus at about 10 a.m.
College officials say it happened during a renovation process at the library.
Nassau County emergency units responded to the scene.
The worker was extricated and taken by helicopter to an area hospital.
His condition is not yet known, but he is reportedly responsive.
