Monday, August 05, 2013
MERRICK, New York (WABC) -- A dog from Long Island who went missing after a home burglary has been located and returned to the family.
Nassau County police say they received an anonymous call late last week and were able to retrieve the 2-year-old bichon/shihtzu mix named 'Cookie'.
Cookie was either taken or walked out an open door after the Merrick Avenue home was burglarized earlier in the week.
According to police the suspect gained access to the house through a basement window and was able to take a flat screen tv, assorted jewelry, a video game system, I-Pad, cell phone and designer bags. The suspect left through the front door.
No arrests have been made and the investigation continues.
