AMITYVILLE, N.Y. -- A Long Island man has been arrested for driving while intoxicated with his three-year-old son in the car after crashing the vehicle.
Suffolk County Police say Ryan Hannigan was arrested Saturday after the 2 p.m. accident.
They say he was charged with aggravated driving while intoxicated with a passenger 15-years-old or younger and endangering the welfare of a child.
Police say Hannigan turned onto oncoming traffic in his 2010 jeep, crashing into a 2007 Nissan Maxima.
The 34-year-old driver of the Nissan Maxima was transported to a local hospital with minor injuries.
Hannigan was arrested at the scene.
The boy was released to a family member.
