BETHPAGE, N.Y. (WABC) -- On Long Island, police have arrested the driver who hit and killed a man and his dog and then took off.
37-year-old Matthew Johnstone is charged with leaving the scene of an accident.
Police say he hit 42-year-old Robert Michaels and his dog early Thursday morning while they were walking on Round Swamp Road in Bethpage.
Johnstone later returned to the scene and was arrested.
