Police hunt driver in deadly Holbrook hit and run

HOLBROOK, N.Y. (WABC) -- Police are searching for the driver who struck and killed a person in Holbrook, Long Island and then took off.

46-year old Cheri Larrydale was walking northbound on Broadway Avenue, crossing Veterans Memorial Highway, when she was struck by a vehicle traveling westbound on Veterans Memorial Highway at about 12:40 a.m. Saturday.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Suffolk County Police are looking for a vehicle with front end and headlight assembly damage.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the crash to contact the Vehicular Crime Unit at 631-852-6555 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
