Police on Long Island have released a sketch of a man accused of attacking a woman in her home.

The incident happened just before 5:30 p.m. Monday at a house in Valley Stream.

Authorities say the 30-year-old victim was investigating a noise when she saw a man climbing through a bedroom window.

The suspect grabbed the woman and began to choke her.

She managed to break free and yell for help, prompting the man to escape through the window.

The subject is described as a Hispanic male in his late teens or early 20s, about 5-foot-8 with a thin build, medium-dark complexion, dark eyes and dark short hair. He was last seen wearing a red baseball cap, white sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Detectives request that anyone with information regarding this crime to contact the Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
