Photos released in gas station murder

NEWARK (WABC) -- Authorities have released surveillance photos of a man wanted in connection with a fatal shooting in Newark.

Hykine Johnson, 35, of Newark was fatally shot at a gas station on the corner of Washington and Court Street in Newark at approximately 7:45 p.m. on Friday, November 9.

The surveillance photos show the man who entered the mini mart and opened fire on the victim, who was pronounced dead at University Hospital at approximately 8:10 p.m.

Authorities say the victim was a patron not an employee of the gas station. Investigators say they have reason to believe he was targeted.
