NEWARK, N.J. (WABC) -- Two planes from Newark Airport bound overseas were forced to make emergency landings because of mechanical problems on Wednesday evening.
One was a United Airlines flight headed to Frankfurt, Germany.
An engine issue forced it to divert to Boston where the Boeing 757 landed safely.
A Scandinavian Airlines flight bound for Norway had to return to Newark after a pressurization problem arose over New Hampshire.
That flight also landed safely.
