Man charged with fatally stabbing wife in Jersey City

JERSEY CITY, N.J. (WABC) -- A Jersey City man is in custody, charged with stabbing his wife to death late Friday night.

Police received a 911 call of a woman stabbed in an apartment at 159 East Bergen Avenue.

They found the 28-year old victim dead at the scene with multiple stab wounds to the upper body.

Officers also found the suspect being detained by residents of the apartment and members of his family.

The suspect, 28-year old Germaine McFadden, is charged with one count of murder and two related weapons charges for unlawful possession and use of a knife.

He is being held on $500,000 bail.
