MANHATTAN (WABC) -- A busy Saturday night in Manhattan plus a runaway cab equals a recipe for disaster.
It happened so fast, there was little time for those caught up in the chaos at 69th Street and Broadway to react.
"I heard a minor crash into the bank," eyewitness Ken Meehan said.
The taxi cab cannon balled into the Capital One Bank on the corner of 69th and Broadway just after 7 p.m. Saturday.
It took out a traffic signal, a one way sign, and a pedestrian crossing signal in it's path. Unfortunately, that's not all that was in its path.
"Then we walked over and there was a woman on the ground pretty hurt," Meehan said.
A 32-year-old woman was walking on the sidewalk when the car barreled through.
Witnesses say she was lying face down on the sidewalk, but could talk.
There was also a 46-year-old woman in the back of the cab.
Both were taken to the hospital.
One witness says the driver was not hurt.
The impact was so forceful that it smashed in the front of the cab and the hood of the car was covered with glass.
The taxi driver declined to give reporters his name, but claims another car rear ended him as he was driving north on Broadway, causing him to crash.
