BROOKLYN (WABC) -- Police in Brooklyn are searching for two men who used a stun gun to rob another man in the subway.
The robbery happened May 29 in the 18th Avenue F train station.
"Wow, that's scary. Didn't know that that can happen here," local worker Mark Murrell said.
"This is the first time I'm hearing about it," resident Jacqueline Goymes said.
That was the typical reaction in the Parkville section of Brooklyn to news of an armed robbery in the nearby subway station.
Security cameras captured one of the two suspects holding the stun gun in his right hand.
Where did they get a stun gun is the question police are asking. Stun guns are illegal to possess or sell in New York and New Jersey, though they are apparently readily available on line.
We found one website that demonstrates the high voltage electrical charge that can incapacitate.
The 39-year-old victim in the Brooklyn attack had to be treated at a local hospital.
The two suspects got away with his wallet and cell phone, essentially ignoring not only the signs that warned of video surveillance, but also the cameras themselves.
