Child rescued from apartment fire in Brooklyn

One child and five firefighters were injured after an overnight apartment fire in Brooklyn.

The fire, in East Williamsburg, broke out just before 1 a.m.

Flames and heavy jet black smoke poured from the windows on a sixth-floor apartment on Humboldt Street.

The injured child was taken to a nearby hospital.

Doctors say the firefighters' injuries were minor.
