NEW YORK (WABC) -- Police in Brooklyn are searching for a suspect wanted for sexually assaulting two women. Authorities hope new surveillance video will lead to an arrest.
Authorities say the sexual predator targets older women while they are at work, in broad daylight. The surveillance video shows the suspect smoking a cigarette and leaning against a store front in Bedford-Stuyvesant on Friday.
What happened next, they say, was consistent with the suspect's pattern. The man allegedly went into the store and forced a 61-year-old woman to the back, where he tried to rape her.
The victim suffered a broken ankle and cuts to her face and arms. The suspect took off with a fistful of cash.
Police say this isn't the first time he struck. On October 26, just after noon, police say the same man tried to sexually assault a 77-year-old woman inside her workplace.
"I think he was trying to choke her and take her clothes off," one area resident said.
The suspect is described as a black man between the ages of 25 and 30. He is between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-10, weighing between 160 and 180 pounds.
"It's crazy, but we all have to watch after each other," a neighbor said. "Because it could happen anywhere."
Anyone with information should call crimestoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
