YouTube video of stopped attack on subway goes viral

NEW YORK (WABC) -- A viral YouTube video of subway riders helping a woman in need is receiving a ton of views.

It all happened last week aboard an 1 train in Brooklyn.

The video is just over two minutes long but it's leaving a lasting impression on straphangers. As soon as straphangers heard the word 'grope' they took action, wresting an accused subway groper and holding for police.

What you don't see in the video, his alleged victim chasing the Bronx man from the Queens bound Q train to the Manhattan bound l train after she claims he grabbed her buttocks.

Two riders pried 30 year old Victor Sigler from a subway pole at the Lorimer street station around 9:30 Friday night.

"There's always woman getting attacked because they look at us like we're weak," says Wendy Ixcoi.

Far from weak as one woman says she was flashed by a man on a subway back in 2010.

That too went viral.

This new piece of video already has well over 80-thousand you-tube hits.

"I'm happy he was caught. I'm happy he was arrested and I hope he goes to jail and somebody gropes him and he doesn't like it and he learns a lesson," said Melissa D'Attilio.

The suspect in this case is charged with forcible touching.
