NYPD releases video of livery driver wanted in rape

Police are searching for a man wanted in an attempted rape in Astoria last Friday.

The man, a livery cab driver, was caught on surveillance video running into a building.

He allegedly followed his victim into the building after she got out of his cab at 30th Street and 34th Avenue around 1:30 a.m.

According to police, he grabbed the woman from behind and attempted to rape her before she was able to break free.

The suspect drives a light-colored Lincoln Town Car.

He is described as a Hispanic male, 20 to 25 years old, standing about 5-foot-4 and weighing around 150 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black shirt with dark pants and frameless eye glasses.
