East Village startup offers tap water to customers

NEW YORK (WABC) -- A couple of entrepreneurs have come up with the bright idea of selling New York City tap water to New Yorkers.

They've opened a store in the East Village, called Molecule, with a $25,000 filtration system that uses ultraviolet rays, ozone treatments and reverse osmosis in a seven-stage processing treatment to create what they call pure H20.

A 16-ounce glass bottle of filtered tap water will set you back $2.50.

Want to save money?

Bring your own container and you can get up to 50 ounces for $1.
