NEW YORK (WABC) -- The NYPD held a street renaming ceremony Saturday in the Bronx, honoring a fallen police officer.
The corner of Webster Avenue and Mosholu Parkway North was renamed "Police Officer Eric Hernandez Memorial Corner."
Friends and family joined officers near the 52nd Precinct in Norwood for the dedication.
In 2006, officer Eric Hernandez was shot and killed by a fellow officer in a tragic case of mistaken identity.
Hernandez had been attacked by a group of men at a White Castle in the Bronx, and was pointing a gun at one of the assailants when the second officer opened fire.
