NEW YORK (WABC) -- A Maserati belonging to a New York City Correction Officer was stolen in Brooklyn Tuesday.
The car was stolen from East New York around 7:30 p.m. It was parked near Linden Boulevard and Pennsylvania Avenue.
Police officers canvassed the area looking for the suspect and the car.
The Maserati was eventually found abandoned on Van Siclen Court, a dead end street just off Jamaica Avenue in nearby Cypress Hills.
The suspect is still on the loose. Witnesses say someone left the car parked on the street and took off on foot.
A Department of Correction spokeswoman says the officer is assigned to the Manhattan Detention Center.
