NEW YORK (WABC) -- Police have arrested a suspect in the death of a woman in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx.
40-year old Richard Bloomfield is charged with murder for allegedly killing 22-year old Madonna Martin.
Police say Bloomfield called 911 early Saturday and said he assaulted his girlfriend.
Responding officers found Martin's body in a parked car on Bruckner Boulevard.
Bloomfield was taken into custody at the scene, and is charged with second degree murder.
He was treated at the hospital for an injury to his wrist, an injury police describe as self-inflicted.
