Video released of suspects in Riverside Drive robbery

Wednesday, January 30, 2013

Police in Manhattan hope surveillance video will lead them to the two men who attacked a woman walking on Riverside Drive.

The men walked up behind the woman and grabbed her purse around 10 p.m. January 24 in Morningside Heights.

Violently shoved to the ground, the female victim was not seriously hurt. The first thief grabbed what appears to be her bag and running off. The second reached down for something else.

Word of the attack, which occurred six days ago, is spreading through this Morningside Heights neighborhood as police seek the public's help in identifying the pair.

It was about 10 o'clock at night as the victim walked south here along riverside drive.

After the two men took her purse, they started running toward 125th Street. At that point they were picked up by two more security cameras.

One of the men is seen carrying what appears to be the victim's white bag. Passing a second sidewalk camera, you get the best look at the face of one suspect.

Anyone with information in regards is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
