BRONX (WABC) -- Police are searching for the man who brutally beat and robbed a teenager in the Bronx, and they're hoping surveillance video will lead to an arrest.
Authorities say the suspect followed his victim, a 17-year-old girl, into her apartment building on East 187th Street in the Belmont section just after 2 p.m. on January 24.
He then pulled her down a flight of stairs before punching her repeatedly in the head and stealing her iPhone.
The man then fled the building. The victim sustained bruising and lacerations to her face.
The suspect is described as a Hispanic male in his early 20s, approximately 6-foot-2 and 160 pounds. He has a slim build and light complexion, with black hair in corn row braids. He was last seen wearing a burgundy coat with a fur-trimmed hood.
Anyone with information in regards is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
