115 guns off the streets thanks to gun buyback

More than 100 weapons are off the streets, following a gun buyback event in Brooklyn.

Police took in 115 weapons at Saturday's event in East New York.

People were given $200 gift cards for turning in their handguns and assault rifles and $20 for a shotgun.

Among the weapons handed over were an archangel 22 caliber and seven handguns with altered serial numbers.

A breakdown of the firearms surrendered are as follows:

56 revolvers
33 semi-automatics
1 assault rifle
9 rifles
5 shotguns (1 was sawed-off)
11 others (BBs, starters, zip guns, etc.)
