NEW YORK (WABC) -- Six people were rescued and a seventh was unaccounted for after their boat overturned in Newtown Creek in Brooklyn early Wednesday.
Authorities say the boat overturned under the Metropolitan Avenue Bridge in the East Williamsburg section just after 5 a.m.
The three men and three women were being treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The seventh person who was on the boat may have safely swam to shore.
The boat was nowhere to be seen and may have sunk to the bottom.
The investigation is ongoing.
