NEW YORK -- Police say an ex-con who held his girlfriend and father hostage in his parents' Queens home has been arrested.
Athanasios "Tommy" Kakouras was charged with assault and resisting arrest around 2 a.m. Sunday following a five-hour standoff with police.
Kakouras allegedly barricaded himself inside the Bayside home after taking his girlfriend and father hostage.
According to the Daily News, Kakouras allegedly got into an argument with his girlfriend and pistol-whipped a person who intervened.
