NEW YORK (WABC) -- The NYPD has released new photos of the suspect they are searching for in the brutal knife attack on a teenage girl in Queens.
The new surveillance images come one day after another man was questioned and released by police, who said no charges will be filed.
The victim, 17-year-old Natasha Martinez, was attacked and stabbed 10 times while walked along 85th Street on her way home from her job at McDonalds in Woodhaven.
Her mother, Wendy Martinez, tried to stop the bleeding until help arrived, and police recovered a small knife at the scene.
The motive behind the incident remains unknown, and the seemingly random nature had residents on the block worried about their safety.
"Terrible, terrible, as a parent, you hate to hear this kind of stuff," resident Mike Hanley said.
Natasha Martinez continues to recover from her injuries at the hospital.
"It's just ridiculous," neighbor Matt Ingram said. "This stuff shouldn't be happening around here. There's a lot of kids, the girl was only 17 years old."
Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
