Woman, pets, rescued from burning Astoria building

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Firefighters rescued a woman and several pets from a burning building in Queens.

The fire started on the first floor of the six-story apartment building in Astoria Thursday evening.

Rescue crews found a woman unconscious in a first floor apartment.

She was rushed to the hospital with severe burns.

Crews also gave first aid to two cats and a rabbit suffering from smoke inhalation.
