New York-bound American Eagle flight makes emergency landing

Friday, August 09, 2013

An American Eagle flight from Atlanta to New York was diverted to Raleigh-Durham International Airport after the crew reported a hydraulic problem.

The Federal Aviation Administration reported Thursday that Flight 3419 landed safely.

American Airlines spokesman Matt Miller said the crew in the cockpit noticed an indication of low pressure in the hydraulic system. Miller said an emergency was declared as a precaution and the aircraft landed at 3:15 p.m.

No injuries were reported.

Miller said the CRJ7 was taken out of service after mechanics examined it and the flight was canceled.

Miller said the airline would help as many of the 54 passengers as possible get to New York Thursday and schedule a flight to LaGuardia Airport on Friday.
