Man wanted in string of armed robberies in Queens Police search for man mugging women in Queens

Police in Queens are trying to track down a violent robber who they believe has attacked at least three women in the last two weeks.

The spree began just after midnight on February 11 on Lefferts Boulevard and Metropolitan Avenue. Authorities say the suspect approached the woman, pushed her up against a fence and displayed a box cutter before fleeing with her purse.

The next day, just before midnight, another woman was attacked while walking along Continental Avenue approaching Dartmouth Street. The suspect exited a dark-colored four-door sedan and grabbed her in a bear hug. He then threatened to cut her, though no knife was displayed, and removed her purse. He fled in the vehicle.

The most recent attack was on Wednesday just before 2 a.m. The suspect approached the female victim as she walked along Austin Street and grabbed her in a bear hug. He then pressed an unknown sharp object against her hand and stole her purse before fleeing in a car fitting the same description.

The surveillance video and photos of the suspect and vehicle are from the third incident.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call the NYPD's Crime Stoppers Hotline at 800-577-TIPS.
