Same name, but not the same guy

WESTCHESTER (WABC) -- He's a master plumber with clients in Westchester and Putnam counties.

His name is Robert Viggiano and if it sounds familiar, well that's his problem.

On Tuesday, Yonkers police arrested Robert S. Viggiano on charges he tried to buy sex from a 10-year old girl.

That's when Robert L. Viggiano's mistaken identity nightmare began.

The similarities are uncanny - both men are 47. Both married with two kids.

Robert S. is an electrical contractor with a business located just one mile away from where Robert L. lives in Cold Spring.

For the last two months, Robert L. has been renovating a dental office. He was there on Wednesday when news of police arresting Robert S. came across the radio. It made for an awkward moment, but long time neighbors say they never had any doubt.

Robert the plumber says even the wife of Robert the suspect called him to apologize.

As one Robert Viggiano faces a legal battle, the other fights to clear his name.
