Dog rescued after escape on Tappan Zee Bridge

Wednesday, October 12, 2011

A dog named "Thumper" has quite the rescue tale after he jumped out of his owner's truck near the Tappan Zee Bridge.

The 2-year-old chocolate colored Pit Bull Terrier is recovering from burns and cuts.

The pooch was reunited with his owner Wednesday night thanks to two bridge workers who rescued Thumper near Tarrytown.

Thumper snuck out of the truck and took off, after his owner pulled over near the toll plaza.
