MTA police save choking infant on Metro-North

Sunday, May 27, 2012

Two MTA Police Department officers saved the life of a choking infant on a Metro-North train at the Croton-Harmon station on Sunday morning.

Aiesha Davidson was with her one-month-old daughter, Serenity Green on the 11:16 p.m train from Beacon to Croton Harmon, when Green suddenly stopped breathing.

Davidson told MTA Police Officers Kieran Killilea and Paul Carufe that Green had been sleeping soundly, but suddenly she started making wheezing noises and was frothing at the mouth.

The officers quickly jumped into action and cleared the infant's airway. Once EMS arrived, the infant was given oxygen and was determined to be in stable condition.

The infant and her mother were taken to Westchester Medical Center by ambulance for further evaluation.
