Tuesday, December 31, 2013

A former actor on 'The Sopranos' is heading home from prison.

State corrections officials said Lillo Brancato Jr. was paroled Tuesday and released from Hudson Correctional Facility at 9 a.m.

Brancato has served less than 10 years for his role in a botched burglary that led to the death of New York City police officer Daniel Enchautegui.

Brancato was acquitted of murder, but found guilty of felony attempted burglary. His co-defendant was convicted of murder and sentenced to life in prison without parole.

Brancato portrayed Matthew Bevilaqua, a young mobster on The Sopranos.

He also played Robert De Niro's son in the 1993 film, 'A Bronx Tale.'
