NEW YORK CITY (WABC) -- Republican president hopeful Mitt Romney is holding a major fundraiser in New York City this morning.
The event at the Marriott Marquis will be the largest of his campaign so far.
The presumptive Republican nominee for president has about a half-dozen events in the New York area this week to raise money for his bid.
Romney raised about $400,000 in New Jersey for a candidate other than himself on Wednesday.
He was in Bernardsville to headline a fundraiser for Republican U.S. Senate candidate Joe Kyrillos.
The campaign stop was payback for Kyrillos, who chaired the former Massachusetts governor's 2008 White House bid in New Jersey. Gov. Chris Christie, a longtime Kyrillos pal, endorsed Romney in October.
The $5,000 per plate fundraiser, held at a private home in Bernardsville, drew about 80 people.
Kyrillos is challenging incumbent Sen. Bob Menendez. The Democrat is bringing former President Bill Clinton to New Jersey for a June 1 fundraiser.
Menendez had $9.5 million on hand for the race as of March 31. Kyrillos reported having raised $1.75 million through the first quarter.
