(New York -WABC, April 25, 2006) (WABC) -- A body has been found in a Bucks County, Pa., landfill where authorities were searching for a missing student from the College of New Jersey, police said.
It was not immediately clear if the body was that of 19-year-old John Fiocco Jr., a graphic arts major who disappeared from the Ewing campus last month. The body was found at the Tullytown Landfill at 200 Bordentown Road in Tullytown, Pa. this afternoon, authorities said.
Fiocco was last seen on March 25 after returning from a party. His blood was found, leading authorities to believe he went down a trash chute and ended up in a trash bin beneath his dorm.
The New Jersey State Police and Mercer County Prosecutor's Office have been searching the Tullytown almost daily since April 1st, after tracking the college's trash to the site.
Authorities tracked the TCNJ trash to two landfills in Lower Bucks County, Pa., both owned by Waste Management, and cordoned off one acre sites at each.
The search began at the Tullytown landfill because Waste Management, which maps the landfills and can trace deliveries with a global-positioning system, believes that was a more likely starting point for the college's garbage.
