Vice President of Engineering:
WABC-TV, the ABC owned station in New York, is seeking a VP of Engineering. This position will oversee the station's engineering department and be responsible for the day-to-day operation of a busy news and production facility and the distribution of WABC-TV program products via multiple distribution platforms including web, wired, satellite and over-the-air transmitters.

Required Qualifications: Candidate should have an in-depth knowledge of digital video and audio technology as well as a complete understanding of file based workflows, internet protocols, broadcast and RF technologies. Experience in TV broadcast engineering management including studio & transmitter facility maintenance, capital project planning and implementation, and labor relations. Production and on-air operations required.

Responsibilities also include scheduling of technical personnel, preparation of operating budgets, knowledge of all building systems & compliance with all government and industry regulations and standards. Degree in technically related field or equivalent experience required.

IT Systems Professional:
WABC-TV, New York is seeking an IT Systems Professional to assist the Manager of Information Technology. Responsibilities include supporting existing IT and Broadcast Computer systems, and helping with the planning and implementation of new systems. Applicants must have extensive knowledge and experience supporting VB/C++ Scripts, Apple and Microsoft desktop/server environments, SAN infrastructure, and Active Directory. Candidates should also possess an understanding of Cisco network architecture and basic configuration. Strong verbal and written skills and the ability to interact well with both end users and management are vital. This position will require working early mornings and weekends, as well as occasional extended hours. The applicant should have experience working in a time sensitive television broadcasting environment. Engineering Technical Operations Manager:
WABC-TV, New York, is looking for an individual with a solid technical and management background to oversee the day to day operations of our multi-stream on-air operation and assist in the design and implementation of new systems to support these operations.

The successful candidate will need to have 6 or more years experience overseeing broadcast News and Master Control / On-Air operations at a major market television station. This position includes managerial responsibilities as well as the need for an in-depth understanding of complex digital video, digital audio, and LAN systems, with a proven ability to diagnose and rectify problems associated with these file-based systems quickly. Excellent communication skills are required as this person will be required to work closely with Traffic, Sales, News and Programming departments, as well as establish operating procedures and train personnel.

We will be looking for a candidate with experience in the following areas: Budgeting, implementing new technologies, personnel scheduling, and technical documentation using AutoCad.

The individual in this position will also be required to participate in WABC's Fire and Safety programs, as well as insure compliance with FCC regulations. Off-hour and weekend work will be required. This is a management job that requires hands-on experience.
