Coming up: City of Water Day, July 14

NEW YORK -- Make a splash on your calendar!

The Metropolitan Waterfront Alliance will present this year's edition of City of Water Day on Saturday, July 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The free event, taking place at Governors Island and Liberty State Park, will feature:

• Free guided boat tours and kayaking lessons
• A waterfront fair
• Free ferries between Liberty State Park and Governors Island
• Dozens of fun family activities, including knot tying and a coloring contest, face painting, outdoor games, and a fossil display
• Stand-up paddle board lessons with REI
• Live music and delicious food sold by award-winning vendors
• A unique festival launch and media event
