(Elizabeth - WABC, January 10, 2007) (WABC) -- A 21-year-old man was killed in a horrific crash that shut down northbound Routes 1 & 9 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, for the Wednesday morning commute.
Investigators say the driver, an Elizabeth resident, lost control of his silver Mustang just after 4 a.m. near the Newark border.
The Mustang reportedly careened off the road and flipped into the highway's grass median.
Officials say he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities say two other men, described as Elizabeth residents ages 38 and 42, were taken to University Hospital in Newark.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
