Transit alert from Eyewitness News

There is a little bit of good news for some Metro-North commuters Monday.

Limited service has resumed on the Port Jervis line after it suffered "catastrophic" damage from Hurricane Irene.

During peak hours, trains will run between Port Jervis and Harriman. Then people will take buses from from Harriman to Ramsey, New Jersey, where they'll transfer to trains to Penn Station.

The railroad says "a massive" repair effort continues.
