Traffic alert from Eyewitness News
WESTBURY (WABC) -- A deadly accident shut down part of the Long Island Expressway early Sunday.
Investigators said a vehicle slammed into the back of a tractor trailer that pulled over near exit 40 in Westbury.
The accident happened around 3:30 Sunday morning.
Police say the driver of the vehicle was killed instantly. He had not been immediately identified.
The truck driver was not hurt.
The accident closed the westbound lanes of the LIE between exits 39 and 40 while police investigated the crash.
