MTA launches app for New York City transit art

Thursday, March 15, 2012

Experiencing art in New York City's subway and railroad stations is just an app away.

Transit officials are introducing a new free app for Apple and Android devices. It will present MTA riders with more than 200 works of art installations at selected subway, LIRR and Metro-North stations.

The app offers "turn-by-turn directions" for locating the art installations and information and photos on each.

The application will be launched at a ceremony Thursday.
