Outerbridge Crossing closure begins

NEW YORK (WABC) -- Drivers who use the Outerbridge Crossing overnight are now dealing with a detour.

Drivers began being diverted to the Goethals Bridge.

Until October, crews will be replacing the span's pavement overnight.

The bridge, which connects Perth Amboy with Staten Island will be closed from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Mondays through Thursdays.

It will also be closed Fridays from 11:59 p.m. until 7 a.m. Saturday.
