NEW YORK (WABC) -- When bad weather is in the AccuWeather forecast, now you can have the full power of AccuTrack interactive radar in the palm of your hands!
The AccuTrack Weather Alert app is now available on the App Store for iPhone and Google Play for Android.!
Tap on the radar on the home screen and open Live AccuTrack Interactive - a map that is zoomable and moveable.
Another great feature is you can share just about everything to Facebook, Twitter or by email.
On the radar, for instance, just click on the share icon on the lower bar and choose where you want to share so you can alert loved ones when you see bad weather coming!
To the right of the share icon, you will see a "layers" option. Here you can change what you want to see on the radar map.
You can also animate the map by clicking the play button and change other settings by clicking the "I" button.
Not only can you see what's coming, AccuTrack Weather Alert app will alert you when severe weather is coming no matter where you are.
Click on the menu icon in the upper left to begin the process of setting up severe weather alerts that you want for wherever you go - with the voices of Eyewitness News AccuWeather meteorologists Lee Goldberg and Bill Evans.
The app follows you wherever you go, plus you can set up 4 additional locations so you can monitor conditions at home, work or a destination. Just open the menu in the top left-hand corner and then click on manage locations.
Scroll down to settings and then click on notifications to set up the alerts that you want to receive, including text alerts and voice alerts.
Get back to the home screen by clicking on a location.
In addition to radar, the home screen includes current conditions for your location, the 7-day forecast and hourly forecast. Just click on the tab that you want to see.
If there's an alert, you will see an icon in the upper right-hand corner. Just click on the icon to bring up the alert.
Back under the menu, you will find a link for Channel 7 Live Video, where you can watch Eyewitness News and breaking weather news LIVE!
Click on Channel 7 video to access the most recent AccuWeather forecast from the Eyewitness News AccuWeather team of meteorologists - Lee Goldberg, Bill Evans, Jeff Smith and Amy Freeze.
You will also find links for alerts for the Channel 7 viewing area and school closings and delays, as well as our Facebook and Twitter weather pages.
If you have photos to share, click on iWitness. You can then send us a picture by clicking Upload in the upper right-hand corner.
You can also easily view pictures already submitted by other Eyewitness News viewers - click on a picture to take it full screen, and then scroll left to right to see more.
