<dig:D3text><![CDATA[The New York City fire department is temporarily changing the process by which 911 calls reporting fires are handled. The fire department says that instead of letting police dispatchers take all the information and then send it out, a fire department dispatcher will now be conferenced in to the 9-1-1 call to ask additional questions and verify the correct address. The move comes after a fire in Brooklyn in which a father and two children died this week raised questions on a new system which began in May. In spite of the "D", teachers at Maxwell got a share of the bonuses handed-out this week to teachers in high needs schools. The bonuses go to schools where teachers volunteered for the program. Where 100 percent of the target goals were met, teachers got $3,000. For 75 percent of the target, the bonus was $1,500 per teacher. At Maxwell High, they reached the 75 percent.
