Matt Franklin

Matt Franklin joined the ABC12 news team in June 2004 and co-anchors (with Josh DeVine) ABC12 News Saturday & Sunday Mornings.  

He is a general assignment reporter based out of the Flint newsroom.

Originally from the Detroit area, Matt graduated from Central Michigan University in 2004 with a B.A.A. in Broadcast and Cinematic Arts.

While attending CMU, he earned a number of awards from the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Foundation for Television Reporting.

After successfully completing an internship at WJBK in Detroit, Matt got his first professional break working as a reporter/fill-in anchor at WLNS in Lansing, during his junior year of college.

In addition, he also held a number of freelance reporting positions within Mid-Michigan before coming to ABC 12.

While at ABC12, Matt has been repeatedly recognized by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters for his ability to report quickly and accurately on breaking news.

When he's not at work, you can find Matt around Mid-Michigan spending time with friends, working out, or participating in a community event.

Matt is proud to call Genesee County home.
