Power out in southwestern Saginaw County

SAGINAW COUNTY (WJRT) -- (04/28/09)--Several thousand Saginaw County residents were in the dark overnight Tuesday thanks to a utility poll catching fire.

The fire initially knocked out power to 440 customers in Chesaning.

Nearly 2,000 Saginaw County residents were in the dark.

Consumers Energy crews were trying to repair a damaged utility wire.

Late Tuesday night, crews were working in Brady Township near the corner of Ferden and Frandsche.

The outage could last for about eight to 10 hours.

The area includes is south of M-57, the villages of Chesaning and Oakley.
