The stories may be strange, but they're true
ROTTEN OFFICE FOOD
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - Think your office fridge smells bad? Seven people in Northern California were sent to a hospital because of noxious fumes from the clean-up of a refrigerator full of rotten food. Firefighters had to evacuate the AT&T building in downtown San Jose yesterday. The hazmat team was even called in. Food had been crammed into an unplugged fridge, so one of the workers decided to clean it out. The combination of cleaning chemicals and rotting lunches caused nearly 30 people to suffer vomiting and nausea. But authorities say the woman who did the actually cleaning wasn't overcome. It seems she suffers from allergies and didn't smell a thing.
PILOT SEX
LOS ANGELES (AP) - A helicopter pilot is getting his wings clipped -- over a high-flying sex stunt. David Martz was videotaped receiving oral sex from a woman, while he flew over San Diego. The National Transportation Safety Board has ruled the action was so reckless, the pilot's license must be revoked. The NTSB notes the woman had unfastened their safety belts and her body blocked access to the helicopter's controls. The video showed on the Internet. During a hearing, Martz admitted he acted foolishly in the 2005 incident but says he's become a much more responsible pilot since then. Martz can apply in a year to have his license reinstated.

Dr. Rakhi Dimino is an obstetrician/gynecologist with Houston Women's Care Associates. She notes there's only so much you can do when there's no TV, no stores open and no place to go. She should know. The doc's first baby is due June 10. The Woman's Hospital of Texas is expecting at least 100 more births this summer than last.
JUDGE-PROMOTING POVICH
DETROIT (AP) - Sentenced to -- watching Maury Povich. A Michigan judge is sentencing deadbeat dads to watch episodes of "Maury." So far this year, several dozen men have been ordered to view the syndicated talk show as part of their probation for overdue child support. Wayne County Circuit Judge Wade McCree says he hopes the show will open the eyes of the defendants. "Maury" often has segments with women confronting the men who fathered their children.
NORWAY-DRUNK DRIVING
OSLO (AP) - It was a short drive, but it's costing a rich Norwegian a small fortune. The 49-year-old man had driven just 400 yards while drunk. Now, he has to pay a $109,000 fine. The man was stopped by police in October. He appeared in a court yesterday to plead guilty. Norwegian courts set drunken driving fines based on income and personal wealth. This driver is said to be worth nearly $37 million. In addition to the massive fine, the court is also taking away the man's driver's license for more than two years.
