MID-MICHIGAN (WJRT) (WJRT) -- (09/22/06)-- Mid-Michigan is the focal point today for a number of candidates on both sides of the political aisle.
There are only 46 days until the November elections. A candidate for the United States Senate is one of many candidates for a variety of offices who visited Mid-Michigan today.
Republican Mike Bouchard made a stop in Saginaw to hold a "roadside chat" near the intersection of Bay and Shattuck Roads in Saginaw Township.
Bouchard invited the public to come out and talk to him about his plan to renew Michigan's economy.
"We are the only state in the America that has lost jobs for three straight years. That's unacceptable. I don't want my kids to leave this state or anybody else's there's at home. We need to make some changes. This is all about changes. It's not Republican or Democrat it's about results," Bouchard said.
Governor Jennifer Granholm was in Flint to celebrate the opening of the new General Motors engine plant.During her time, she said the state is dedicated to working in "lock-step" with manufacturing in the state.
Jesse Jackson and U.S. Senator Debbie Stabenow stopped at UAW Local 599. Stabenow joined State Senator Deb Cherry and State House candidate Fred Starzyk at Grand Blanc High School to answer questions at the West Campus Auditorium.
