FLINT (WJRT) (WJRT) -- (05/01/07)--Flint's downtown area is now being transformed into the Flint of the '70s in preparation for this week's filming of the Will Ferrell comedy "Semi-Pro."
And to accommodate all the action Wednesday and Thursday, there will be some street closures and rerouting of MTA buses.
The changes are only in effect for Wednesday and Thursday because Harrison from Third North will be blocked off for the movie.
MTA passengers who use the transportation center at Second and Harrison will use a different route transfer site.
Primary route transfers will be over a block on Third Street between Wallenberg and Harrison and on Wallenberg between Third and Fourth streets.
Regional Service and Your Ride will board on Third Street between Stevens and Wallenberg.
The changes will be identical to the locations used when the transfer center recently underwent renovations, so folks at the MTA believe most of their passengers will be familiar with the locations.
They are temporary, so they are right on the street with no cover. And MTA officials concede the move will affect a large number of people.
MTA passengers should return to normal locations on Friday.
