Could Chevy in the Hole become recreation site?

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

(10/28/09)--It's a vision to reinvent an old property near downtown Flint.

Imagine the Chevy in the Hole site as a state park or urban riverfront.

Right now, the site is a bare slab of concrete spanning 100 acres near Kettering University.

Efforts are being made by some University of Michigan-Flint students who want to revamp the property.

Members of the community gathered to talk about the history of the site, but also to focus on the future.

This is a long term goal to be completed in phases within the next 40 years.

Andrew Robinson hopes to see the progress in his lifetime.
