BURTON (WJRT) -- (11/02/09)--A Burton mother is now offering a cash reward for information about where he son may be.
Ryan Standridge, 26, was last seen the afternoon of Sunday, Oct. 18. The detective on the case says search crews have been out as recent as Saturday.
They've even expanded their area to look near Davison Township, and there's still no sign of Standridge.
"Every day he asked me, 'Can I do something for you today, mom?' So when he said, 'I'm coming back to mow that lawn' with me ... " said mother Lori Grooms.
But Grooms says her son did not return home that day or in the days that followed. Grooms says he left the house between 12:30 p.m. and 1 p.m."I know he was wearing his black tennis shoes," Grooms said.
Grooms said she believes Standridge was walking to one of his favorite spots: Kelly Lake Park. It's not far from their Lapeer Road home.
"He was going to the lake," Grooms said. "He said it was calming. He just loved that place. He'd keep it clean like it was his little own lake."
Search crews have focused their efforts at the lake. They even used sonar to look in the water.
Burton police say they've ruled out the lake and will continue to search the area of Genesee and Lapeer near Davison Township.
Grooms is posting a cash reward for any information about where he could be.
Grooms does not believe he simply just walked away. She says he was happy and was talking about going to college for nursing.
Standridge is 6 foot 2 inches with blondish hair. He has several small ponytails on top. He's also missing a front tooth.
Police say he's on medication and does not have it with him.
